I have a DLink di-604 router that is connected to 3 computers. I have a software firewall installed on each one of them. The problem is that i need to open a few ports but my software firewall doesn't have the option to. I am worried that if i disable the firewall my computer would be to unsafe (even though i have a anti virus).
I would have already disabled if my logs weren't empty but they seem to be consistent with attemps like syn flooding and traceroute. But i also have alot of trojan attacks. Im not sure if these are real or are false (i use p2p programs).
So what I'm asking is is it safe to disable the firewall, or should i change, or if somebody has heard of a program that can open a port while im using my firewall?
Thanks,
Aviv
