I purchased a D-Link Wireless router. I want to connect it to my network that has the following connected already.
One DSL Router which connects to the WAN port of NETGEAR Firewall, the server connects to the LAN port of the Firewall and the Firewall is connected using one of it's free LAN ports to a 20 port switch.
From my reading I can use this router as an Access point. To do this I think I have to do the following but not sure.
1. Dissconnect the server cord from the firewall and connect it to the WAN port of the Wirless router. Enter in the IP address of the Wireless to enter the setup page, but the IP address of 192.168.0.1 is the same address to enter the firewall setup page. Will that be a problem. If not the next setps.
2. Disable DHCP of the wireless
3. Enter in new IP address for the wireless router to 192.168.0.3 the same subnet as the firewall/router.
4. Apply and save settings
5. reconnect the server to the firewall/router
6. connect the wireless via its LAN port to the firewall LAN port or the an open switch port.
Is that correct? Please any help or suggestions would be great.
