I need something basically the same, except in my case I'm only copying files one way on the same machine. My job can be done with a simple copy batch file and scheduled task, but I've needed tools like these in the past for other things. Anyway, if you want to really invest some time in it, a true sync tool may possibly be scriptable and executed with a scheduled task. There's a command called "diff" on linux that may be ported in things like cygwin. I'm not sure what it does, but I'm making a really wild guess that it could possibly check the differences in two folders (or files). Anyway, what I'm getting at is if that's actually what the command does then I'd bet the farm that you could script this with some help from some linux gurus. There's also the "replace" command on windows XP and probably 2000 that can update similarly named files to new versions or add new files. There are some starting points if you haven't found anything yet, and if you do get this working post the batch file so I can steal it :) . Second Copy 2000. http://www.centered.com/ I have already the full version running and it does the job! multiplexed 12-01-2003, 05:10 PM Thanks Eric! Practicallynetworked.com
