I have a network setup with a wireless router and a bridge to a webcam server. It's a Belkin router and a Netgear bridge. If I don't use encryption, everything works fine. But if I turn encryption on and set them the same, they won't communicate.

I tried using 64bit in automatic mode. I know they both have the same key. What gives? I don't want to go without encryption, because the computer will eventually have credit card processing done on it and I can't have anyone accessing that data.

Weird, it works fine with 128bit encryption, but won't work at all with 64bit. Guess I'll go with 128. It's probably more secure anyway.

I suggest you do some research on security esp wireless - I am a nob to the wireless world but not to PCs...

If your running CC processing then you better make sure your box is LOCKED down tight!

I would not recommend any financial transactions run over a WEP link. WEP is not secure enough.

Someone agrees with me :) Best to hardwire it to the router snd protect it from the sniffers out there. Actually in my local area a large chain store that went wireless (for transactions) caught some people outside their store capturing traffic - they had to go to a paper system ASAP until the security threat was eliminated.
