I am setting two ADSL networks at separate branch offices and want them connected through VPN. Each office is running about 5 computers peer to peer.
At the moment each office is running simple Internet sharing through an email server using USB ADSL modems.
I am planning to use 2 Netgear VPN Firewalls (FVS318) and change the USB modems to RJ45 ones with VPN passthrough. (Most seem to be routers with 4 RJ45 ports anyway)
One of the offices also has a laptop and has a RJ45 port and wireless capability. I was thinking of getting a wireless modem with RJ45 ports for the little extra it costs; to connect the laptop, but this may complicate things as the laptop wouldn’t be running through the firewall. I may just opt for the wired option.

Anyone used these FVS318’s, are they ok?
Also what about connecting the modem/router to the FVS318 as both have DHCP capabilities?
Any better suggestions welcome.

You don't need an ADSL modem/router also. Just an ethernet ADSL modem - hard to find.

There's one here:

You can get the FVS318 from the same place.
Get them to confirm both will work together.

The only way to go VPN wireless with the laptop is to connect an Access Point to the FV318.
