Suggestions on software

At my home, I'm working on several projects and over the past few months I have discovered that with all the computers I'm using and space that I have, I currently have about one terabyte on all of my servers. The question I have is, I need a way to organize all of the files that I have. I need a few ideas on what sort of software I could use. I was thinking of a database like access or something along those lines.

This could be a solution, but this will only work if you are consequent on updating your database. Otherwise, it's just a waste of time.

Check the internet if there are any archiving applications. There should be a couple. I will check myself also.
