Hi,

I have two computers linked with a BEFSR41 EtherFast Cable/DSL Router with 4 ports and DSL Modem. Both computers use Windows 98 Second Edition.

Here is my strange problem.

One computer works very well and has no problem going online at all. However, to get the second computer to go online, I have to reboot the router and the DSL modem. I have called the Linksys technician and we have tried things, but nothing seems to work. I'm not a computer wizard and I have no idea what could be wrong. According to the technician who tried to help (at least he thought so until the next day when I tried to go online again and couldn't), he was saying that the ethernet card was hanging up. He made me do some changes in the computer but of course, he had me reboot the modem and router first, so everything seemed fine at the time.

Does anyone know what's going on and if so, what must I do to stop having to reboot the modem and router every time I want to use the connection?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
