connecting computers

I`ve heard that the easiest way for connecting 2 computers is using a crossed twisted pair cable.
Can anybody confirm this or give some comments or hints ? I guess i do not have much knowledge in computers... .

Yes thats correct. You should buy one pre-manufactured from a supplier and it should have stamped on it 'cross-over' or similar.
