i have a D-Link DI-614+
Is there anyway either through hardware or software I can limit a users bandwidth?
My roommate stays up all night and day downloading music and it kills my bandwidth.

If you could convince him to use Getright (see getright.com) for his downloads you can set a speed limit in it. Of course it requires his cooperation.
You can limit bandwidth using what is called 'packet shaping' by placing a box between yourselves and the internet. These solutions are expensive and not practical for home users.

The only practical solution is a separate internet connection, or homicide.

Manfrommars I saw this proggie a while ago,
However I am reluctant to install or recommend program that is version 0.04. I.e. between Alpha to beta status.
Did you actually tried this program?

I haven't tried it myself as of yet. Have been keeping en eye on it, mostly reading the forumsl. It seems it had been stalled for a little bit but is now being worked on again. It's currently up to ver 0.10. Any way just mentioned it for something to check out, might not be the needed solution.
