I am going to kill someone or somehting if I dont get this working properly.
I setup a wireless network for my dad this weekend using the following equipment:
Linksys BEFW11S4 v.4
3x D-Link DWL-120+ USB Adapters
3 computers on the network using Comcast cable internet service.
ok, so all the computers were successfully networked with the above equipment. All computers can browse the internet, they can see eachother and transfer files between eachother.
Great! Painless effort!
Yeah right....
None of the computers can run AIM without an error message saying "your buddy list and buddy icons are temporarily unavailable, try again later"
Ok, tried again later, same thing. If I disconnect the router and go back toa straight connection to one computer, it works flawless.
So, no matter what I do, port mapping for the ports AIM uses, putting an entire computer in the DMZ, enabling UPnP, it doesn;t matter, it wont work.
It was my understanding that this router would work with AIM even without port mapping? Can someone please help me out?
Thank you!
