I have a linksys 802.11b wireless network set up at my home. Once in awhile, the computers suddenly disconnect, but reconnect within seconds. The time is short so I didn't even realize it was happening while in the browser. This only happens on the computers which are connected to the router without wires. Does anyone know how to stop this from happening?

You can work with fixed channels on your wireless products. This situations occurs whenever its seeking for other channels. In the properties of windows, you can select a hard channel instead of a dynamic one. (where talking about the wireless channel)

what do you mean properties of windows?
could i goto http://192.168.1.1/ and change the internet connection type to static ip instead of obtain ip automatically?

No, right click on "my network places", and click properties.
Select the wireless connection and right click again and select properties. On the tab general, select "configure." Go to tab "advanced." Make sure there's a fixed number in IBSS Channel number and that the "Power Save mode" is disabled.

There is no tab that says IBSS channel number

How would the IBSS setting be changed under Windows 98SE? I have a Belkin card that does the same thing. The (Gigafast) router is set to channel 1, but the card never remembers the channel setting.

I too am having connectivity problems. Linksys WT54G. I have an IBM ThinkPad and while using it is will drop connectivity. I can reconnect almost immediately.
I have read previous posts and other info and do not have any interference issues in my house that I know of. I have changed channels a couple of times and nothing helps.
I see Linksys makes a signal booster but don't know if that will help increase signal strength and resolve my problem as I need increased signal strength not increased range of signal.
Any advice from this group would be very much appreciated.
Rogie.
