Linksys Router Lags every 40 seconds in Half life

I've recently installed a BEFW11s4-AT. Everything seemed to work fine until I tried playing Half Life (Counter strike actually) Every 40 seconds or so, it will lag for 3 seconds or so, and then it will sync back up. I've tried using a regular LAN cable to connect my laptop to it, as well as a wireless card, so I know the connection is not the problem. I have static IP's set up. I've been trying to debug this problem but have become stumped. Maybe this is just a problem with the router that can't be fixed, any info is greatly appreciated

hmmm this is somewhat a complicated and yet delicate issue, the firmware that you have on your router is actually had been provided by ATnT, and as far as i can remember this router has only 3 tabs. and it doesnt have any MTU capabilities. i would suggest try to contact ATnT regarding this matter and ask them if they have already released a beta firmware.

That router generates an enormous amount of overhead for some reason dunno why, use FreeSCO to build a router, its better you can do it with any 'garage sale' PC.
