WinXP printer share not visibly to Win98

Hello folks

I've got the following network configuration:

1 WinXP PC, which shares a printer, an internet connection. This PC delivers IPs to two other computers. I use advanced filesharing with this PC, configure by the guide "WinXP Pro File Sharing" at www.practicallynetworked.com.

1 Win98 PC, which is able to view files just fine. But the printer is not visible to this PC

1 WinXP PC, which is also able to view files and folder, but unlike the Win98 PC this PC can see and use the printer just fine.


I can't figure out why the win98 PC can't see the printer shared by the first WinXP PC. Can anyone help my?

Well I don't have an answer, but I do have the same problem, and I'll let you know when I find an answer! In my case I have three 98 pcs and two XP pcs on the same network. The Xp machines can see each others printers, but none of the 98 machines can see the Xp's shared printers, although they can see the shared C drives. Strange..

I was wondering, 'cause I couldn't find a guide on how to set up a printer share in win xp, maybe someone could explaine in details?
