I have been having problems getting my clients to connect to Compuerve (CS2000) using the CS2000 interface. My host computer works fine. I have been able to get the clients to connect by using the IP address for Compuserve rather than the DNS. This stopped working as well. On related subject the clients can't check email either. Trying the IP address for the email servers worked for awhile but it doesn't work now either. Any suggestions would be appreciated

System Information:
I have a Direcway Satellite system and with Linksys Wireless Router. My Host is a desktop and I have two laptops that are clients. The Direcway modem is connected via USB to the desktop.

Why not try microsoft internet connection sharing. This will only work with win98se and higher. This should solve your problem.

Is there any particular reason to use compuserve 2000?

That's the maddening thing, ICS works with Internet Explorer but not the Compuserve 2000 software nor email. Near as I can figure it is some sort of issue with DNS vs. IP but I can't figure out how to fix it. In case I didn't mention it, the Host is using XP Home, one Client is a laptop with XP Pro and the other Client is a laptop with 98SE. With the exception of this Compuserve problem, the rest of the network works fine.

Try to post all the ipconfig info, so we might check out if something is wrong there.
