My wife and I each have our own PC in separate rooms. I subscribe to DSL and use a Linksys 4-port router, to which both PCs are wire-connected. What do I have to do, or buy and do, to be enabled to use the printer connected to her PC? I use Win 98SE and she uses Win ME.
I know this is simple stuff, but see my bio. Thanks.

I haven't donw this myself because I use a network printer. But my understanding is that you have to set the printer's properties to shared and install the printer driver on your PC.

Unfortunately, the solution isn't as simple as you suggest. When I tried installing the printer driver on my PC, I was asked which network the printer is on. Since there is no network between the two PCs, I couldn't install the driver. In addition, "sharing" a printer is not given as an option. Now I am back at square one with my original question: How do I network the PCs so hardware can be used by both, and files shared if I desire that? There must be a simple way, I just don't know it. Is there anyone in this forum who can answer this question? Many thanks to all.
