Woke up a few days ago, could not access cable modem from computer #1. Computer # 2 was fine. Started fiddling with software and switches, finally got computer #2 to stop working. The hardware is SOHOware SFA110A on both. Generic Chinese router, Cat5 cable, Win 98 on #1, 98SE on #2.
On #1, Changed slots, changed to Netgear FA311, New cable from #1 to router.
In software, got latest drivers from SOHOWare, messed with registry, installed NETBUIE, reinstalled TCP/IP, deleted netbuie.
SOHOware diagnostic says "Client not present" Win shows MS Client for Networks.
Any ideas? BTW, modem is OK
