Just some info sharing...
I have a D-link DI-707 router.. A couple days ago, I was fiddling with setting up ports for ICQ and when I saved the changes and rebooted, the unit did not come back properly.. ie, the M1 and M2 lights blinked twice then went off.. It was impossible to connect to it again.. My network was down for almost 2 days.. I called D-Link support in both the US and Canada, and neither of them was any help whatsoever.. They suggested I have the unit replaced.. well I got looking at it, and I noticed on the right side of the unit, there's a hidden black reset button.. I powered off, held this button in with a pin, and powered back up while holding the button.. Lo and behold, the unit came back up with factory defaults.. It's amazing to me that D-Link support could not have told me this... Hope this helps somebody out of a similar bind..

Thats a good tip. Its not uncommon for routers to get confused and they all have a small hard reset button. Netgear routers sometimes (rarely) will refuse to give out DHCP addresses and a hard reset clears this.
If in doubt, reset.
