wierd sharing problem (WinME)

First of all I'd just like to say that it isn't my computer, because I would NEVER use windows me on my own machine. Anyway I have a basic peer to peer TCP/IP network set up. The machine in question has an IP, and CAN ping other hosts on the network. However, it is unable to see anythign in network neighborhood. It says "unable to browse network" All the computers in the network are in the same workgroup, and all have unique computer names. The other computers are able to access the shared resources fine. The other problem that I have is that I have file and printer sharing enabled, yet I am unable to share anythign on the computer in question. When I go to any hard drive or printer the sharing option is not there when i right click, and when I go into properties the sharing tab is not there. Does anyone have any idea? Any info is greatly appreciated.

If you check the computer services there is a service called computer browser...check it is started. Also check Netbios over TCP/IP is enabled.

Where would i check to see that the "computer browser" is enabled?

I don't have ME so I can't say exactly how you get to the services list.
In XP its Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> Services.
