Hi,people!I need a little help.I have a small office LAN,and I need to know how to e-mail another person on my LAN without going through our ISP.Totally LAN based.I have 2 machines running WIN XP Home,2 machines running 98,and 2 machines running XP PRO.We have a DSL connection going through a router, then through 1 XP Home machine. This is our "server",I suppose. From there,on to the "clients".We need to know how to set this up so 1 machine can e-mail another without giong through our ISP(or any other web based e-mail servers-i.e.Hotmail.) and without using something like "Instant Messenger".Do we need software?Do we need any more hardware?Any replies would be GREATLY appreciated.Thank you guys in advance for your help.E-mail me, or Instant mess. me @ jason443a@netscape.net.Thanks Again for your help!

I'm also looking for an answer to that problem.
I've received a notification from my Mail server Provider, saying my account could be cancelled, because of too many logins per hour (200 plus). I must check new mail every 2 minutes, and I've recently installed a wireless network, with each computer running Outlook Express (OE).
They also warn me about synchronizing more than one folder. That is not a problem in my case. This is an email I've posted in their forum:
"So, if you synchonize, and OE checks for new messages every 2 minutes, does it mean that the system downloads the same messages over and over again? Or does it only make login and checking every 2 minutes?
I have a new problem after installing a wireless network in my home.
I must see the notification of every new email that arrives, every 2 minutes, and, since I have several PCs on the network, in several rooms, it multiplies the logins.
If I synchronize only one computer, with the other computers simply checking mail, does it make any difference to the mail server?
Is there any way of having only one computer checking mail and synchronizing, and then automatically sending a message (or forwarding mail) to all other computers through the network, announcing the arrival of new mail? That would solve my problem, without straining the mail server with multiple logins."
Help needed...

Thanks, it will solve nosajvirus443 ploblem, certainly.
In my case, I've found FastCheck, an instant notification software that works with my Fastmail.fm mail and solves my problem also.
