I have two LAN PC's connected to a SpeedStream 2624 router. One of the machines is being used as a web server and has a port 80 forwarding rule created for it on the router. Everything works just fine until a connection to Yahoo's IM server (via Trillian client) is made on the second PC. Thats when incoming port 80 requests stop being routed to the web server and instead get redirected to the machine with the Yahoo IM connection. A quick check of the router's admin screens shows no change -- the original port forwarding rule is still there... The problem persists even when the IM connection is dropped. The only fix appears to be a power cycle on the router itself. I can reproduce this behavior time and time again and cannot find a reasonable explanation for it. I understand that Yahoo IM can use port 80 at times when access to 5050 is blocked, but even if that is the case, how could this circumvent an existing rule in the router? If its some kind of a triggered map capability in the router, why would the problem persist when the "client" is no longer making outbound connections? I'm very much confused... Any ideas??
Thanks
