I'm a newby to XP Pro and Winroute Pro, though I've used Win 98 for sometime. My question and problem is related to setting up a third-party firewall Winroute Pro (v4.2.5) in XP. I've tried & installed Winroute in 98 and it seems to work fine.

This is my setup: 3 PCs on a home lan with PC1 running XP Pro acting as internet server or gateway, and PC2 & PC3 running Win98 SE as client workstations. I've followed the same procedure in setting up Winroute in 98, as advised by the guy in Kerio to have the same setup in XP but it seems not to work - it won't allow my browsers (Netscape & IE6 on host machine) to access the net. Initially it seemed to work but after a day or two it won't allow it anymore - even pinging doesn't give a response and Winroute is blocking it even without packet filtering rules. If I disable Winroute temporarily I can connect to the internet.

I have disabled ICS & XP's built-in firewall. NAT is enabled ONLY on my dial-up modem in Winroute. LAN is OK - I can ping/browse my other workstations with or without Winroute.

Where is my problem - is it in Winroute or XP? I need HELP!
