My setup:
- Desktop running WinME, Deskjet722c printer attached via LPT1, shared on network
- Laptop running WinXP, using shared DJ722c as default printer.
- Network: Linksys bew11s4 router, laptop wireless, desktop ethernet.
My problem isn't attaching to the printer or actually printing, it's figuring out how to get the printer to print text properly from the laptop. It seems EVERYTHING is sent to the printer from the laptop as an image or BMP or something (RAW format, I believe), which takes FOREVER to print. Any way I can get it to print as though the info were coming from the desktop, or am I stuck having to save stuff on a shared drive and running to the desktop to print (which would actually be faster than what it's doing now?)
