Dear All,

I have a problem with my RG unit. It seems that the wireless interface is dead. Initially I thought it's the problem with the firmware, and thus, I tried to reload the firmware using AirportBaseStationConfigurator. However, in the end, it's all the same, no matter whatever configuration tools I used it seems that I only able to connect using the ethernet.

I have tried Freebase, AP Manager, AirportBasestation Config, RG Setup utilities, I have managed to set a fixed IP address or getting the IP from a DHCP server. It seems to work alright. The only problem is that it does not show in any wireless network scan. I have tried Orinoco Silver PC-Card and Linksys PC-Card, they all do not show anything on the wireless network scan. I can be sure that the problem is not with the PC-Card nor my PCMCIA slot as I am able to connect to other basestation.

I have even tried to open up my RG and seems that the silver PC-Card inside works fine ( judging from the power LED and the wireless activity LED).

I am totally clueless as what to try for now. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
Best Regards,
Hendrik

From all your test it sounds that the radio has packed up. You should probably contact Proxim for a RMA.
