I bought a Linksys BEFW11S4 802.11b wireless router, and a WSB24 wireless signal booster.

The docs say the WSB24 is compatable only with the WAP11 (AP) and BEFW11S4.

When I went to hook the 2 together, I found that the 2 antennas from the wireless router do not fit the connectors on the signal booster. Very odd. Of course, all the pics are shown with the WAP11.

No mention of any adapters that I could find. All that is needed is for the threads of the antenna connectors to stick out farther from the back, then the antennas could thread on to them.

Answer

I had the same thing last night here is what you do.

Unscrew the antennas from the wireless router.

*The END of the antenna (the bottom end, fattest peice), pushes UP and comes off the antenna. You may have to twist it and push it hard, but it comes off, over the top of the antenna, which makes the antennas fit perfectly on the booster.

Linksys did not mantion this ANYWHERE in the documentation.

Chris.

Chris,

Thanks! I have already returned the booster to Best Buy. I had added a second access point, so I'm now getting good coverage even without the booster. I mostly wanted to see for myself the performance of the wireless section of the router both with and without the booster.

Hope your info will help out others if they find themselves in this situation.
