Hey all. Greenstead, I noticed that in one of the posts, you said to filter out the persons IP address. Why is this? I mean, if you have a router, its hard for them to hack your computer through your IP, right?

Yes, your LAN IPs are protected by the router. But the IP he showed was his internet IP and thats asking for some weirdo to ping it to death.
(Acutally he had modified it so it was a false IP - no problem).

Can our router (MR314) stop DoS attacks like constant pinging?

I dunno clutchd.

I doubt it - its quite old really.

But it only takes you off-line - no real damage.
