Hopefully this question has not been asked. My network configurations is the following:

Host PC - Running Windows XP Home Edition
Linksys WUSB11 with IP 192.168.1.101 (static)

Linksys Wireless Access Point Router - IP 192.168.1.1 (default)

Client PC - Running Windows 98 SE
Linksys WUSB11 with IP 192.168.1.102 (static)

Even though this router provides connectivity for a DSL or Cable connection, I am using is as a simple switch for a dialup connetion. We do not have cable/DSL in this area.

I have no problem with either of the PCs talking to each other. They can both ping each other and ping the router. The problem that I'm having is with the Client PC I am unable to set up an Internet Gateway to control the dialup connection remotely. If I were to connect to the internet on the Host PC, I can use the internet on the Client PC with no problem. I was reading through some documentation about ICS, and it says the Host PC must have an IP 192.168.0.1 to properly function as an internet gateway. Is there a workaround for this? I was thinking of hooking up the WAN port to the router to a NIC card in the HostPC, and sharing the connection through the router. Is this possible. I do not know how the PC would function with two network connections. Can anyone give me some advice on this subject.

You have to change your subnet from 192.168.1.0 to 192.168.0.0

ICS on XP requires that the WUSB11 on the host has IP 192.168.0.1
The others and the AP can be anything in subnet 192.168.0.0
e.g. 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.3

If i understand correctly, you recommend I change the submask of the router to 192.68.0.0? I'll try it to see if it works.

I have another question that you may be able to help me with. It seems that everytime I pass a significant amount of data across the wireless link, it seems to disconnect from the network. For instance, if I surf a web page that has a lot of images on it the page would eventually time out, and give me an "page not ..." error. And if I try to look at the rest of the network through network neighorhood, everything is gone. To confirm this, I went to the host computer to see if it could ping the client, and nada. Do you know what may be causing this? I verifiied the link status and the signal strength is 100%, but the quality drops down to 67%.

No, the subnet is 192.168.0.0, not the mask. The subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 For example make the router 192.168.0.254. Disable the DHCP service in the router and let ICS allocate the Ip addresses.

Your dropout problems. Make sure you have the latest firmware in the router and wireless adapters from the Linksys website.
