My wireless network stopped working recently, and instead of using dhcp it now uses automatic private addressing and i cannot connect to the internet or access my router. I have searched these forums and tried all the suggested fixes to no avail. ie release/renew, reset router to factory default, uninstall/reinstall nic, and several others. I am confident a reformat would fix it because i have had this problem before and a reformat worked, which leads me to believe it is a problem in windows xp. If anyone has any ideas please let them flow.
I am not using wep. I cannot open the access point settings through internet explorer. I can ping the router when i set the ip address to manual however, i still cannot access the router setting with internet explorer ie 192.168.1 nor can i access the internet.
