I have the NetGear FR314 set as my firewall connected to my dsl modem. I then have the Linksys BEFW11S4 connected to the NetGear Port 4. I then use a linksys wireless card to access my linksys wap. Everything runs ok currently.
The problem occurs when i let everything sit overnight. I shut off my computers but leave both the routers and dsl modem on. I have the Netgear set to disable my net connection after 90 mins. So, when I try to get on using my wifi card in the morning no connection. However, if I boot up a computer that is attached locally to the netgear, it restores my dsl connection and everything is ok.
My question is...how can I get the netgear to recognize the "wake-up" signal from my linksys? I thought that if the wap received a signal from my laptop, it would pass this onto the netgear, and the netgear would open the connection. Does the linksys not pass the right kind of signal to the netgear to cause it to wake-up?
Any thoughts are welcomed.
Below is a crude representation of my network.
DSL -> NETGEAR -> Linksys WAP -> WIFI CARD
-> LOCAL COMPUTER
