I am evaluating LAN messaging products and wanted to know your opinion about PopMessenger. We want about a dozen people to be able to send and receive messages in our office.
PopMessenger looks so easy to use and very elegant too.
What do you think about this program? there is the Popmessenger website (http://www.leadmind.com)

Just use Windows Messenger! It is free.

Does it support offline messages and a file transfer?

I've seen Windows Messenger website. It has external connections with internet. I think it's not safely for our company...

Check out Jabber (http://www.jabber.com/products_jabber_everywhere.php)

The evaluation server supports 10 users.

I have no idea how much the full package costs, but most of the IM servers I have seen run about $500 - $2500.

The eval server is free.

While it's not an instant messanger solution, I've been using a real great service which actually combines wireless group SMS with a new speed dial conferencing functionality.

The service lets you set up groups on a website, and people in those groups can then SMS to the group and call all of the phone numbers at once within the group. Great service, we really find it useful.

You can sign up and try it for free at: www.newconferencing.com.

You can try Brosix.
www.brosix.com (http://www.brosix.com)

It supports offline messages as well as file transfer and voice chat (VoIP).

I've always wonder when some company will expand the "Send Console Message" program available from Computer Management console?
