I have a peer-peer network setup here at the office. I have an XP machine that has a shared folder for each of my 20 user's to save work related data (Word, Excel, Lotus, etc..). I've done this because all 20 client pc's are older machines running Win98 & they're not very stable. This setup allows me to control permissions and have data centrally located, also my tape device is on the XP machine. This dramatically decreases the time it takes to backup the data (backing up over the network used to take 14hrs, currently it takes 4hrs.). The problem is that XP will only allow 10 simultaneous connections at any one given time. Is there a "hack" or registry change that can be made to allow more connections?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
