I run Win98 with a Linksys Ethernet Network sharing local printers on 3 PCs. A friend gave me an HP JetDirect EX Plus 2591A Print Server and I want to use it with my HP LaserJet III. When I unplug the working network cable from the computer and plug it into the print server and test I get I/O Card Ready and TCP/IP ready indicating everything is working. But when I try to run the wizard to install it, it can't find it either automatically, when I type in the IP address, or when I type in the hardware address. I think I may need to reset the IP address on the printer server which the HP website said could be done with BootP but I can't find anything about Bootp in Windows help. Any suggestions?

I guess you will have solved this one by now, but if not have you tried to download the HP Wizard from hp.com which automatically finds and installs a printer connected to your network.

I have tried that recently, it finds the printer from both a Win2K desktop and a Win98 laptop connected on my network, shows the assigned IP address and the MAC address as printed from the printer but then at the very last seems to lose the network connewction and asks me to recycle the printer (power ?) and try again. I have - multiple times and the same error crops up.

Any help at all would be appreciated !
