I have two WAP11s 1.1 versions, I am currently using them to connect my two TiVos to my home network for use with their newly released Home Media Option. I have them configured in the following way;

SSID = linksys = channel 11 = 128-bit WEP enabled
SSID = linksys1 = channel 1 = Wep disabled.

I have configured it this way under the assumption that I would be isolating each TiVo to a specific channel to improve the multi-room transfer speeds and to prevent bottlenecking one channel with two-way traffic. It seems to have worked quite well, transfer speeds have improved dramatically.

I do have a problem with getting WEP enabled on one of the WAP11s, the WAP11 is not accepting the key. Not sure why that is happening.

My question is does this look to be the best configuration or is there something else I can do to improve the performance even more.

Are you using them in Client AP mode and why are you keeping them on seperate networks???

No, they are in Access Point mode.

When I was using just one AP to connect both TiVos to my home network I found that the transfering a program from TiVo-TiVo was very slow. For example, to transfer a 30 minute program from one TiVo to the other it was taking 45-50 minutes, unacceptable. When I use my second AP and place it on a different channel with a different SSID I can then force each TiVo to connect different APs, the sending/receiving is now isolated on separate channels and the performance is greatly improved, 20 minutes to transfer a 30 minute program.
