Ugh. I recently upgraded the driver and the firmware for my Netgear MA-401 wireless PC card ... and I've now got a wireless connection that comes and goes. This is driving me crazy - it was perfect before. I've tried rolling back the driver, but something else is causing the problem (maybe the firmware?).

FYI, the card is connecting to the D-Link 713P wireless router - and they worked together perfectly prior to the upgrading. I keep wondering if I can change the IP settings or the DNS address ... very frustrating. For what it's worth, I usually get the connection back if I remove the card and reinsert it. Sometimes, however, I have to power cycle the router.

Any ideas?

You're using XP and the V2.6 driver for the MA401 ? It should be OK.

The other issue can be the firmware in the router. Get the latest firmware for that too. Also try a hard reset on the router.

Well, I've finally got the system working again, without any dropouts. Upgraded firmware in both the card and the wireless router. Apparently, they couldn't talk to one another so well after I upgraded the driver and firmware in just the card alone. The upgraded firmware in the router seems to have helped.

We'll see if this lasts ...

Still have the XP/wireless printing problem (sloooooow), but there doesn't seem to be much that I can do about that.

Thanks.
