Hello All,
I have just bought my dad a Netgear MR814 wireless router to replace his regular router. They had them at Best Buy for $20 after a $30 rebate!!! How is that for a deal??? 4 port dsl/cable router + wireless all for $20... I was quite pleased with that... Now, implementing it... he has a few devices that would be best wireless. A Laptop, no big deal and a xbox that is at the far end of his house. He doesn't want to run a cable (and I can't blame him). I have seen the Ethernet to Wireless Bridges... $100 ~ $150!!! I only paid $20 for the ROUTER and now I am going to have to spend 5, 6 or 7 times that much for a stinking bridge?!?!?! Please tell me there is another way?!?!?! Can't you use another wireless router in place of a bridge? Surely their has to be some less expensive option. The MR814 is no longer on sale but if I have to spend $100 on another router or a $100 on a bridge, I would rather do the router... at least then if he decides he doesnt want to play with the xbox anymore it could be used for something else like at my place... Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Regards,
Richard
