I've got Cable internet coming into my cable modem. From there it goes into a Linux Router (BBIagent). From there, it goes into the switches producing enough ports for the machines on my LAN.

I just got a D-Link 614+ Router. It doesn't mention that it's an Access Point, but I'd like to know if I can use it anyway. I'd like to keep using BBIagent as my router if at all possible.

Can I set the D-Link up to get it's info (DHCP) from BBIagent like all of the other clients? If so, how do I physically connect it to the switches (WAN port or LAN port)? Does this model allow me to disable DHCP on it?

Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

You need to check the router manual for most of your questions - on most wireless routers the answer would be yes. You would connect it by a LAN port.
