I'd like to run a VPN with a wireless node on the client side, terminating at a server in the access point.

All the products I've found by Googl(tm)ing that can do that are really expensive. The consumer side is full of products that advertise VPN passthrough or the ability to work as a VPN client, but I haven't found any servers yet.

Are there any access points in the SOHO market that can accept an incoming VPN connection? Or do I have to set up a computer behind the AP to do the work?

Thanks,

Fred

I am not aware of any.

We use a Nortel VPN router at work with a combined VPN client and server and it costs £900. For home users I think you are limited to routers with VPN passthro and do the VPN on the PC.

Thanks. I was afraid of that -- the cheapest I've found was the Colubris, in about the same price range.
