I just replaced MS ICS with a Linksys BEFSR81, and now I can't access shares on other machines.
The process I used:
1 - Before installing the router, I removed the network bridge that ICS creates on the machine that was connected to my DSL modem, and set BOTH real machines (I use VMWare as I'm in college to be an MCSE, <g> How embarrassing. :P ) to DHCP.
2 - After installing the router, both machines can access the internet, but neither can 'see' each other. (I can't ping one machine from the other, as a matter of fact, virtual machines can't even ping the host machine anymore, )
3 - The router is apparently able to get the NETBIOS hostnames of both machines, as they appear in the routers DHCP client table,
So, what do I try now? Any ideas?
