 I currenty use a NTL digital set top box via a USB network adaptor on my Windows XP (home) pc...
I've now got two other pc's in the house so I decided to by a Linksys BEFSR41 router to connect all the pc's together and so share the NTL broadband connection through this router....

I've managed to network all the pc's but cannot get them to use the WAN connection...
I'm in the UK and NTL do not technically support users doing it this way but did say it can be done if I use Dynamic IP's and clone the MAC address of the original network card into the router....
I've done this but still no joy.... as I don't know a lot about networking any ideas ??
I'll need spoon feeding, so be gentle !!
Thanks
Neil

Does the STB have a USB connector ? Mine has an ethernet port.

What NTL said should work. Connect the WAN port of the router to the STB (are you using the correct cable - I don't know if it should be straight or cross-over). Set the LAN DHCP service on in the router. Clone the original MAC address into the router - are you cloning the correct MAC address.

I dunno how the STB works, but I think you should be able to let the router use its own MAC address and just repower the STB. Try that too.
